Feng is Open Knowledge's abmassador for China and a co-founder of Open Data China. He is living in Shanghai, China and currently is working as a independent consultant on open data and social innovation and is available for contract and part-time/full-time job. He also spends time on engaging local community in open data movement, maintaining blogs and social medias, and coordinating related projects and events.
Feng obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Universtiy of Southampton . His PhD research focused on exploring how to crowdsource and leverage people's food beliefs to give better feedback on whether a food is healthy. He envisioned a data-driven approach to leverage people's thoughts to solve behavior change problems. His works involved focus group, interviews, surveys, prototypes and user studies.
Before he came to UK, he obtained his BE in Computer Science from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
In his spare time, he is a traveller and enjoys experimenting in different kinds of cooking. He loves different Chinese dialects and enjoy exploring Chinese traditional cultures.
